What are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are ideal for patients who want to transform the look and feel of their smile. The veneers are thin and placed directly onto the front teeth. They are designed to cover small flaws and imperfections that would otherwise require invasive work to fix. Our goal is to provide you with veneers that look and feel completely realistic.
Why are Porcelain Veneers needed?
You may want veneers because you’re ready to change your smile. Your teeth may be severely stained and discolored, requiring the need for veneers. Likewise, your front teeth may be chipped, cracked or fractured. Veneers can last upwards of 10 years, so they’re durable and long-lasting as well.

Who is a good candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
Most of our patients who want or need veneers can easily have these porcelain shells made for them. The procedure typically does not require any anesthetic because only light buffing is done to the front teeth. You’ll come in for a consultation before we can determine if veneers are right for you. Dr. Adkins can advise on the different cosmetic options available to meet your goals and needs.
What can you expect with the Porcelain Veneer procedure?
The first step is coming in for a consultation with Dr. Adkins. We will examine your teeth and determine if you are a good candidate for porcelain veneers. Next, the front of your teeth will be buffed slightly. Impressions, or molds are taken and sent to a local lab where the porcelain veneers are made for you. You’ll come back into the office to have the veneers placed. The veneers are smoothed and filed to perfect the fit and make them more comfortable. With proper care, you can expect the veneers to last for about 10 years. After this time, you can have the veneers replaced with brand new porcelain to again perfect the look of your smile.
If you want or think you might need veneers, call our office today and we’ll get right to work scheduling an appointment for you.
